  1. 6. Even though books are still big today, many of us would not miss them. The reason is, we can obation the information of the books via TV or searching in the web.

  2. 6.) I think that there would be a big group of people that wouldn’t mind books being illegal because there are people who hate to read and would rather get their information from TV or the internet. On the other hand there would also be a lot of people who would be sad because even though all books aren’t great, books give you a chance to enhance your knowledge. Your vocabulary also becomes richer by reading books.

  3. These days, a good percentage of the country doesn't value books as much as before. There are many media outlets, and books have sort of fallen through the cracks. Television has taken the role of the major source of entertainment for most people, especially the new generation. I believe that most people would not have such a big problem with books becoming illegal. They would just have to find a new source of information, something that could be easily attained.

  4. 6. Most people would not miss books if they became illegal.

Surely, nowadays, there are a lot of people who would rather go on Facebook or talk on the phone with a friend than to sit down and read a good book. But in my opinion, there are still a ton of people in this world that actually enjoy reading and would be at a great loss if books were made illegal. If all books were banned, people wouldn’t be as educated because they would give up on trying to learn things on their own. I agree with what Elizabear said, “They would just have to find a new source of information, something that could be easily attained.” However, there a lot of people out there who enjoy reading books for fun. If you take away their entertainment, what do you expect them to do?

  5. 3. Education is more about moving people around and giving “facts” than it is about getting people to think and question.

In my opinion, being educated is about thinking and questioning something. If you just know the facts about anything surely you know about the subject but you’re not being fully engaged in it. I think that to completely understand a topic you must thing deeper than just the facts you’ve been given. For example, if you had never tasted an apple but you knew that it grew on a tree, was roundish, was a fruit, and came in a variety of colors, you wouldn’t know what it tastes like because all apples taste a little different; just like everything else. Not everyone has the same thoughts about any given subject.

  6. 4. Political correctness will become the norm, and censors will remove content that offends people from all media.

The way the world is moving now, this will more than likely eventually become true to an extent. Books are being banned for reasons that were normal back when the book was written. For example, books that include the n word are being removed from schools even though children will hear the word eventually and it has historical meaning. Surely any book or magazine has something in it that will offend someone in the world. You can’t just go on removing every little thing because sooner or later there will be nothing left. I think that that is what happened in the past of this novel. They just kept removing more and more until they gave up and decided to just remove it all.

  7. 2. People will become less responsible towards others because they are too busy making themselves happy.

I don’t honestly think that is true. In Fahrenheit 451, there are people who are like that; Mildred for example. But there are also people who strive to make others happy whether society likes it or not; like Clarisse. Just like life right now. There are selfish people out there that do whatever it takes to make themselves happy; there has always been people like that and their always will be. But there has also always been people like almost everyone in our class who helps others and puts them before themselves. I honestly think that no matter how much the government tries, there will always be people out to do good in the world.

  9. 5. In the society that Montag lives on, being educated makes people unequal because there are many types of people in this world. The ones that want to get an education and do something with their life and the ones that just wanna live the "thug life". Knowing this, people can argue that learning makes people unequal because some people are gonna achieve more things than others will.
    6. I agree that most people would not miss books if they were illegal because we have many other resources like TV and the web that give us a faster summary of a book and are more interesting. However i know that a lot of people would miss them as well because there are people out there like Mrs. Wilderman, that love them and sleep with them. haha(:
